What We've Been Up To

Hello!!!

It seems like it has been forever since I last posted. Once the warmer months hit we get busy busy busy. I'm currently taking my 2nd to last class to clear my teaching credential, so that takes all of my free time up. I will be thrilled to be done come this Fall. Thankfully John and Noah are very supportive and helpful. We just returned from 4 relaxing days at The Westin Villas in Rancho Mirage, CA (Palm Springs). It was a fabulous visit, we spent our days exploring the area, relaxing at the pool and evenings getting out to dinner. We just fell in love with the Palm Springs area, I could move there in a minute. Even though we don't golf we enjoyed the laid back life style of the community. Noah had a blast swimming, going down the water slide with both John and I and flirting with the older ladies who just couldn't believe how cute and brave he was around the pool. Noah was 7 months old the first time he splashed around in a pool and has loved it ever since. Noah could have floated around the pool all day long if we would have let him. Of course he had to do this on his own too, he wanted no part of John or I holding on to him. We stayed close behind as he enjoyed socializing with who ever would chat with him. Sadly we had to return home, but plan to make this an annual trip. On our way home we stopped by Temecula, CA to have lunch with our good friends The Caveney's. Amy and I have been friends since our dance days at Alyce Porter and NKOTB concert. It was so great to see Amy and Logan, sadly Chris was not able to join us. Logan and Noah had a great time together and I think will be great friends as they grow through the years. It was great seeing our friends and hope to see them again very soon. Noah and I are now preparing for a visit home for some parties and Nana time. Check back soon to read and see about our summer adventures.

Easter 2009

This year we spent Easter in Ridgecrest at our place with my parents. On Saturday John and I took Noah on base for an Easter Egg Hunt. This was his first hunt since he was just a baby last Easter. Nana and Papa got into town later in the day arriving just before Noah woke from his nap. Of course he was excited to have them here to play with him in his new backyard. Sunday we had an egg hunt in the backyard, Noah was more interested in playing and running around so I had to find the eggs before the candy melted or was attacked by ants. My Mom spent the rest of her Spring Break here with us, it was so nice to have her here. Of course the fun had to come to an end and she flew home this past Saturday.

Turning 32!!!

So I turned 32 on March 7th, officially into my 30's I guess you can say. We didn't plan anything big until I reminded John that you got in free to Disneyland for your birthday. A few days before I had received my email reminding me that I had a ticket waiting. I really didn't plan on him saying lets go, but he did. Since we live about 2 hours away it's a pretty easy drive. I was lucky to find a good deal @ The Disneyland Hotel and booked our stay for one night. Even though it's 2 hours away after driving and playing all day @ Disneyland it's a long 2 hours. So we got up early Saturday morning and headed to The Happiest Place on Earth. We got there a little after the park opened up and had a great time. This was Noah's 2nd visit and he loved it just as much as the first time around. Noah road Autopia for the 1st time and loved it, he even had to stand tall for his 1st measurement to ride. We road our favorites, Pirates and Haunted Mansion. Since it was just John and I this time we stuck to the rides Noah could enjoy. I must say I missed Indiana and Space Mountain, but we will be back soon I'm sure. Celebrating your birthday at Disneyland is great, you receive a pin with your name stating that it's your birthday. I can truly say I have never been wished Happy Birthday so many times in my life, it's pretty fun. As always looking forward to our next trip and it won't come soon enough. I really look forward to the day when Noah can enjoy more of the rides.

Noah Hanging Out

Noah listening to some tunes.

Noah was trying to help change a light buld with Papa.

Leslie, this one is for you. Noah decided to try Lauren's fashion forward style. But he decided it was a look only for the girls.

Here are a few pics. of Noah from this past weekend. Nana and Papa came down for a visit over the long holiday weekend. John and I were able to get out for a few hours for dinner and a movie on Valentine's Day.

Noah and THE PACIFIER

Well as you may know we took the pacifier away from Noah last Thursday night. Noah was only using the pacifier during his naps and bedtime, so we didn't have to do battle with him during his waking hours. Of course I was very nervous and not looking forward to sleepless nights and no naps that I was sure would be the result. I did have some faith that he would do fine since Noah transitioned from the bottle to cup easily. We are very lucky that Noah has been an easy baby when it comes to new things. And he proved to be a trooper this time around as well. With exception to waking up early the first morning without his pacifier he has done great. So far so good, sleeping through the night and taking his naps. Of course like most baby's Noah lets out a cry once or twice during the night but that is normal. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Noah continues to have many more good nights and naps to come.
