Back to School
OK, so this is something about Jamie. I'm starting back to school this week, online school that is. You see after having a BA and a Single Subject Teaching Credential I still am not finished. I think if you added up all my credits I could have a Masters by now. Of course college counselor's never tell you how to go about doing things the right way that benefits you the student. Or at least that is my experience in the world of higher education. So I already have my credential right, not exactly. What you get after completing the credential program is a preliminary credential you still have a few more courses to complete. This is called the 5th year program or induction program, what am I being inducted to the Armed Services. If you have ever taught in a classroom you sometimes feel you need military training, haha. To complete this 5th year program you either teach at a school with an induction program or be admitted into a university that has a 5th year program. Since I taught at a private school before I became a stay at home Mommy they didn't have a program. So I was accepted to UCSD's program where I took 1 online course right after Noah was born. Now I'm on to my 2nd class with only 2 more to go, yippee for me. So wish me luck over these next 6 weeks and that Noah takes his naps so mommy can do her work. OK, well that is my life these days I will have to get John to take a picture of me looking studious to add to my ramblings.

Update!
"Look Mommy and Daddy I can stand up, next walking just wait"

Higher Daddy higher!!!!!

Noah is under the impression that his toy is a Segway

So it seems that Noah's stomach problems have come to an end, or at least improving. We took him to the doctor on Friday and the doctor just advised us to continue with the BRAT diet, no whole milk for a few days and to replace it with Soy, and of course lots of clear liquids. Other than that nothing really wrong with the little guy, just a bug. The doctor was very impressed with how well behaved Noah was during the exam. He also informed us that Noah was going to be a lady killer once he gets older, older he already is a flirt and ham. As you will see in the pictures posted Noah is playing up to the camera as always.

Messy Diapers Too Many to Count
So I know this is pretty gross and why would I post on this subject you may ask. Well here it is, Noah has had diarrhea for the past 2 days. GROSS!!!!!!!!!! He doesn't have a fever, not vomiting and no other unusual symptoms. Of course I'm stressed out, my baby obviously has something wrong with him, right? He is teething, so I guess that could be it. We're feeding him items from the BRAT Diet- Banana, Rice, Apple Sauce and Toast. Also yogurt for those lovely cultures and nothing is working. Of course I'm giving him plenty of water and milk so he doesn't become dehydrated. What is a mother supposed to do? I called the doctor in this lovely town we call home which pains me to do so. Lets just say after a Urgent Care experience here in Ridgecrap as I like to call it I have little faith in their medical abilities. But I'm sure not going to drive all the way to San Jose, just not logical. So if he wakes up with it in the morning, off to the doctors we go. I have a pediatrician here that I see in emergencies but it's just not the same as his doctor in San Jose. So if you have any advice please feel free to post something, I'm at the end of my rope. You mothers will understand when your child is sick it kills you. Luckily Noah is a happy camper through all of this. Keep your fingers crossed that this clears up and is nothing serious.

Disneyland Adventure October 2008
We are back from our Disneyland Adventure and we had a blast. It was so much fun to see the look on Noah's face on each ride and the characters he encountered. Many would say that we were crazy for taking a 1 year old to Disneyland, but we took on the challenge. John, Noah and I drove the 2 and a half hours to The OC on Monday October 13 to hang out in the area before my parents flew in the next morning. Our trip began with a lunch in Newport, then made our way to South Coast Plaza to do some shopping. After all of this it was finally time to check into the hotel. We then went to Downtown Disney and ate at the Rain Forest cafe, Noah enjoyed the sites and sounds. It really is a Jungle in there if you have never been. Early Tuesday morning Nana and Papa arrived at our hotel and we made our way over to The Grand Californian, where we stayed for the rest of our trip. John has been bugging me every time we went to Disneyland to stay there, so it finally happened this time around. What a great hotel, well worth the money for sure. You can't beat the location, just a short walk and you're in both parks. We spent our first day at both Disneyland and California Adventure. Noah loved Pirates and The Haunted Mansion, he also had a blast on Dumbo and Nemo's sub. Of course we all took turns with the big kid rides since our little adventurer couldn't enjoy them. I think our all time favorites are of course Pirates and Haunted Mansion, but who doesn't love Indiana and Tower of Terror.
The next day our friends Amy, Chris and Logan joined us. It was so great to see our dear friends and to meet little Logan. Noah and Logan hit it off, I think they will be good friends one of these days. Amy and I have been friends for over 15 years, all the way back to our Alyce Porter Dancing days. Hopefully one these of days when Logan and Noah are older we can take them back to "The Happiest Place on Earth" together.
On our last day Noah had a birthday breakfast at the Storytellers Cafe in our hotel. This trip was also to celebrate the first year of our lives with Noah. What a treat this was, Noah loved the breakfast of course and the chocolate cake he received. But the best part was when Noah met Chip and Dale, and the other friends who joined them. Noah loved to play with each character as they made his acquaintance. After breakfast we strolled over to the Disneyland Hotel and Noah bumped into Pluto and Goofy who he just loved as well.
All in all we had a wonderful trip and it was so nice to be able to share this special moment with my Mom and Dad as well as our friends. Noah was a trooper the whole time, we knew he would do well. As always we had many laughs together and enjoyed our time together. Of course we are a little sad that our trip came to an end but we look forward to many more trips with Noah.

Noah is 13 months today!!!
Our Noah is 13 months today, well actually yesterday but I didn't get a chance to post. Can't believe we are now on our way to 2, oh no. All is well with Noah, he saw his doctor last week. Noah just loves Dr. Contini, he just looks at him with amazement. Noah is 23 lbs. and 31 inches long. Right on track, he always falls in the 50-75 percentile in weight and height, it's his head that is 90%. I attribute him not walking by himself to his big head. Oh, I know what a mean Mommy but he is still the cutest baby to me. We hear lots of pitter-patter but it's his hands and knees racing him around the house. I know it will happen soon, I almost thought he was going to take a few steps alone today with out the help of toys or furniture but no luck. I know don't rush it because once he starts the real work begins. It is just so exciting to see all the changes that have happened over the past 13 months. I'm very blessed and lucky that I can be home to see and share in every moment. Being a stay at home Mom is tough but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Party Party Party!!!

This past weekend Noah and I attended a family party. Well actually it was an adult party but Noah came along with my parents and I. Noah had a wonderful time, he ate lots of yummy food including tamales, beans and rice. Oh, and not to mention the endless watermelon and strawberries he munched on. Noah really enjoyed the live entertainment as well, he sang along with the mariachi band. We are now preparing for our vacation to Disneyland. John, my parents and I can't wait to share in Noah's 1st trip to Disneyland. Be sure to check back to see how our Disney Adventure went.
